Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University and Bali Zoo Sign Cooperation Agreement for the Advancement of Education, Research, and Conservation

The Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University (Fapet Unud) and Bali Zoo have officially signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) aimed at strengthening collaboration in the fields of education, research, human resource development, and wildlife conservation. The signing ceremony took place at Sancto Restaurant, Bali Zoo, Gianyar, on Thursday, June 12, 2025.

Fapet Unud was led by the Dean, Dr. Ir. Dewi Ayu Warmadewi, S.Pt., M.Si., IPM., ASEAN Eng., accompanied by Prof. Dr. Ir. Gusti Ayu Mayani Kristina Dewi, M.S., IPU, ASEAN Eng., and Dr. Ir. Eny Puspani, S.Pt., M.Si., IPM., who serves as Coordinator of the Information and Collaboration Management Unit (UPIKS) of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry.

The Fapet Unud delegation was warmly welcomed by representatives of Bali Zoo, including Anak Agung Gde Putra (Director of Bali Zoo), Eka Pertama (Owner Representative), and Putu Ngurah Prayudi Wirawan (Head of Human Resource Development).

This Cooperation Agreement reflects the strong commitment of both parties to support the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program through field practices, internships, collaborative research, and community service. In addition, the partnership is also directed at supporting the conservation of both local and exotic wildlife as an integral part of education and sustainable conservation efforts.

In her remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry expressed her appreciation for Bali Zoo’s openness to collaborating with academia and expressed hope that this partnership would not only enrich students’ learning experiences but also enhance the contribution of Fapet Unud to the development of applied, environmentally conscious animal husbandry science.

The event concluded with a technical discussion session on follow-up plans for the cooperation programs to be implemented, along with the exploration of future collaborative opportunities.
