FAPET UNUD HOLDS A NATIONAL SEMINAR AS WELL AS HOSTING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE 1st ARPENAS DECLARATION AND CONGRESS
Wednesday, July 24 2024 is a historic date for the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University (Fapet Unud). Located at the Grand Mega Resort and Spa, Faculty of Animal Husbandry Unud held a National Seminar and also hosted the Declaration and Congress of the National Association of Animal Reproduction and Breeding Experts (ARPENAS). The seminar activity with the theme Increasing Food Security with Technological Innovation Based on Local Animal Resources was attended by dozens of participants from various universities throughout Indonesia. This activity began with a report by the Chair of the Committee, Dr. Ir. Ni Luh Gde Sumardani, S.Pt., M.Sc., and remarks from the Dean of Faculty of Animal Husbandry Unud, Dr. Ir. Dewi Ayu Warmadewi, S.Pt., M.Sc., IPM., ASEAN Eng. This event was also a proud moment because it was attended directly by the Director General of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health, Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Ir. Nasrullah, M.Sc., IPU. After being officially opened by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at Udayana University, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja, M.P., IPU., the seminar continued with the implementation of the Declaration from all ARPENAS members both offline and online.
This seminar was also attended by several other important figures such as Professor at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Brawijaya University, Prof. Dr. Sc. Agr. Ir. Suyadi, MS., IPU., ASEAN Eng.; President Director of Cita Indonesia, Ir. Virnanda Aprila Hapsara, S.Pt., M.M., IPU., ASEAN Eng.; Director of Processing and Marketing of Livestock Products, Tri Melasari, S.Pt., M.Si.; Head of the Bali Province Agriculture and Food Security Service, Dr. I Wayan Sunada, S.P., M. Agb.; Head of BPTU HPT Denpasar, Dr. Hary Suhada, S.Pt., M.Sc.; Denpasar Veterinary Center, Dr. drh. I Ketut Wirata, M.Sc.; Head of the Bali Province Agricultural Instrument Standardization Agency, Dr. drh. I Made Rai Yasa, M.P.; Chairman of PT Charoen Pokphand Tbk Bali Branch, Chairman of PT Satwa Agro Farm, Chairman of PT Arta Sedana, Dean of Faculty of Animal Husbandry Unud and staff, Chairman and Secretary of the Senate of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, resource persons and Moderators who are competent in their fields.
After the declaration event, the activity continued with the presentation of material by the keynote speaker, Director General of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health, Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Ir. Nasrullah, M.Sc., IPU., as well as resource persons, namely Prof. Dr. Sc. Agr. Ir. Suyadi, M.S., IPU., ASEAN Eng., Professor at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Brawijaya University with the topic "Development and Utilization of Local Livestock Generic Resources in Supporting Food Security", Prof. Dr. Ir. I Made Nuriyasa, M.S., Professor of Faculty of Animal Husbandry Unud, with the topic "Development and Utilization of Local Livestock Resources in the Challenge of Climate Change in Indonesia", Ir. Virnanda Aprilia Hapsara, S.Pt., M.M., IPU., ASEAN Eng., President Director of Cita Indonesia Group, with the topic "Strategy for Utilizing Local Feed Resources in Supporting Animal Food Security" together with the Cita Indonesia Group Team, namely Demi Estacio, and Dr. I Nyoman Sumerta Miwada, S.Pt., M.P., Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Information, Faculty of Animal Husbandry Unud with the topic "Downstreaming Local Livestock Products in Supporting Food Security Based on Culinary Tourism in Indonesia". The event then continued with the ARPENAS Congress along with parallel presentation sessions based on the fields of Animal Nutrition and Forage Science, Animal Production and Reproduction, Animal Product Technology, and Animal Husbandry Socio-Economics. After the parallel session presentations, the event was closed by the Chair of the Committee by handing over certificates of appreciation to the best presenters in each field and having dinner together.
