Unud Faculty of Animal Husbandry Explores Strategic Collaboration with Bali Zoo for Education and Conservation Development

The Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University (Fapet Unud) has carried out a visit to explore strategic cooperation with Bali Zoo (Thursday, 31 October 2024). This step aims to strengthen collaboration in the field of Higher Education Tri Dharma and animal conservation, in line with the efforts of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry Unud to create superior and environmentally conscious graduates. This visit was welcomed directly by Penglingsir Puri Singapadu who is also the owner of Bali Zoo, Anak Agung Gde Putra Agung, and accompanied by the Owner Representative of Bali Zoo, Eka Pertama.

During the meeting, the Dean of Faculty of Animal Husbandry Unud Dr. Ir. Dewi Ayu Warmadewi, S.Pt., M.Si., IPM., ASEAN Eng. accompanied by Prof. Dr. Ir. Gusti Ayu Mayani Kristina Dewi, MS, IPU, ASEAN Eng. and Dr. Ir. Eny Puspani, S.Pt., M.Sc., IPM. explained various collaboration opportunities that could be developed, including internship programs, joint research, and educational activities involving students and academic staff. Bali Zoo is considered an ideal partner, considering Bali Zoo's facilities and experience in animal conservation and education which have been widely recognized.

Anak Agung Gde Putra Agung welcomed this initiative and expressed his hope that this collaboration could provide benefits for both parties, especially in supporting animal and environmental conservation. Eka Pertama, as the owner's representative, added that Bali Zoo is ready to contribute to creating research-based programs that can be applied to the development of the livestock and wildlife sector in Indonesia.

It is hoped that this exploration will be the first step that can pave the way for long-term collaboration between the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Unud and Bali Zoo. Both parties hope that this collaboration can produce a positive impact, both in terms of scientific development in the animal husbandry sector and in supporting animal conservation missions in Bali and Indonesia.
