Faculty of Animal Husbandry Udayana University Lecturer Dr. I Nyoman Sumerta Miwada Becomes a Guest Speaker at a Guest Lecture Held by Universitas PGRI Kanjuruhan Malang

Malang, July 15, 2025 – Dr. I Nyoman Sumerta Miwada, S.Pt., M.P., a lecturer from the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, served as one of the speakers in the Guest Lecture event organized by the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Universitas PGRI Kanjuruhan Malang. The event carried the theme: “Sharing Session: Innovation of Processed Livestock Products Based on Local Wisdom.”

In the online session held via Zoom Meeting, Dr. Sumerta Miwada presented a material titled “Oret: Balinese-style Sausage,” highlighting the richness of Balinese culinary traditions derived from livestock products as a potential innovation for high-value processed meat products with strong local cultural identity.

This event also featured several other speakers from various universities, including:

• Dr. Premy Puspitawati Rahayu, S.Pt., M.P. (Universitas Brawijaya Malang) – “Functional Foods from Animal Sources”

• Dr. Sjaloom Ester Sakul, S.Pt., M.Si. (Universitas Sam Ratulangi Manado) – “Quality of Ice Cream Enriched with Synbiotic Yogurt and White Oyster Mushroom Extract”

• Ir. Edy Permadi, S.Pt., M.Sc., IPM (Universitas Tanjungpura) – “Potential of Bioactive Peptides in Fermented Sausages as Functional Food”

• Dr. Ir. Aju Tjatur Nugroho Krisnangingsih, M.P., IPM (Universitas PGRI Kanjuruhan Malang) – “Apple Peel By-Product-Based Yogurt as Functional Food”

Through this activity, the Faculty of Animal Husbandry at Universitas PGRI Kanjuruhan Malang aims to encourage collaboration and the exchange of ideas among experts in the field of livestock product innovation rooted in local wisdom.
