Faculty of Animal Husbandry Udayana University Successfully Hosts the 2025 Feed Supplement Innovation Competition
The Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University (Fapet Unud), successfully organized the 2025 Feed Supplement Innovation Competition (LIFS), with its grand finale held on Monday, July 21, 2025. Carrying the theme "Optimizing Local Resources through Supplement Innovation for Sustainable Indonesian Livestock Farmers", the competition commenced in June and ran smoothly from the registration and submission stage (June 9 – July 2, 2025), through the judging process, to the announcement of winners on July 21, 2025.
The event attracted participation from students of various universities across Indonesia, including the Indonesian Catholic University of Saint Paul Ruteng, IPB University, Udayana University (Unud), Diponegoro University (Undip), Jenderal Soedirman University (Unsoed), Brawijaya University (UB), and Hasanuddin University (Unhas).
The judging panel consisted of highly competent experts in the field: Prof. Ir. Bambang Sulistiyanto, M.Agr.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., Dr. Tri Rachmanto Prihambodo, S.Pt., M.S., and Ni Made Ari Kusuma Dewi, S.Pt., M.Sc.
After a rigorous selection process, five finalists were chosen to present their innovative works on July 21, 2025. These finalists were evaluated based on both their presentations and the scientific papers they had submitted earlier.
The winners were:

1st Place: IPB University team with the innovation "Alginate-Based Microencapsulation of Rubber Seed Oil Using Sargassum sp. to Increase CLA Content in Dairy Cow Milk towards Sustainable Livestock Farming".

2nd Place: IPB University team with the innovation "VITA-MOVE: Effervescent Tablet Solution to Maintain Livestock Body Balance During Transportation, Based on Local Waste".

3rd Place: Diponegoro University team with the innovation "MAGOFIT: Organic Supplement Based on Encapsulated Maggot Oil and Herbs for Feed Efficiency and Immune Boosting in Native Chickens".
All ideas submitted in the 2025 Feed Supplement Innovation Competition were remarkable, showcasing significant potential for advancing livestock feed development in Indonesia. This event is expected not to mark the end of a competition, but rather the beginning of continuous innovation and development. These innovations are anticipated to be further refined and applied to improve community welfare through the advancement of Indonesia’s livestock sector.
