FAPET UNUD COLLABORATES WITH UNTL TIMOR LESTE TO HELD AN INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP “ANIMAL SCIENCE 2023”
The Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University (Fapet Unud) is holding an International Animal Science Workshop 2023 with the theme "Strengthening Science and Technology Innovation of Fiber-Rich Feed Biotechnology and Processing of Animal Products. This activity is a collaboration between the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University and the Faculty of Agriculture, Universidade Nacional Timor Lorosa'e (UNTL) Timor Leste, which was held in the Seminar Room, Agrocomplex Building, Lt. 1, Udayana University Campus, Jl. PB Sudirman, Denpasar. The implementation of the event chaired by Prof. Dr. Ir. Ni Wayan Siti, M.Sc., and a series of events starting from Thursday, May 11 to Tuesday, May 16, 2023, which were carried out with participants from the Faculty of Agriculture of the Universidade Nacional Timor Lorosa'e (UNTL) Timor Leste, students of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry Unud level S1, S2, and S3; alumni; as well as lecturers and staff in the Faculty of Animal Husbandry of Udayana University.
The series of activities carried out included: Visits to Luwak Livestock Business Locations and Luwak Coffee Products D'garden Luwak Coffee in Mengwi District, Bali; debriefing of Animal Husbandry Agribusiness by Prof. Dr. Dr. Ir. Nyoman Suparta, MS., MM., ASEAN. Eng in the Hall of the Bukit Jimbaran Animal Husbandry Faculty; Debriefing and introduction of modern digital laboratory equipment by Andi Udin Sarasi, STP, M.Pt in the Lab. Unud Faculty of Animal Husbandry; A visit to the Cau Chocolate Agribusiness Product in Cau Village, Tabanan Regency; Milk and meat processing technology training; finally carried out community service and a field trip to PT. Cheese Works Bali and Lembu Putih Foundation, Taro Village, Gianyar.
In his remarks the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at the National Universidade Timor Lorosae: Dr. Ligia Tomas Correia, S.Pt. M.Sc. conveyed about the objectives of holding the 2023 INTERNATIONAL ANIMAL SCIENCE WORKSHOP. "This collaborative collaboration in organizing the 2023 INTERNATIONAL ANIMAL SCIENCE WORKSHOP is an initiative of the concrete manifestation of the signing of the MoU between the two universities, especially with the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University which is also a follow-up to the cooperation between the state of Timor Leste and Indonesian country. In order to facilitate progress in the field of technology related to resources, facilities and performance of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education in this case education and teaching, research and community service so that this collaboration can contribute to the sustainable development of the country in various sectors, especially livestock sector. Which later will support the superior quality of human resources for the country of Timor Leste, "said Dr. Ligia.
