ANIMAL-BASED PROTEIN CONSUMPTION CAMPAIGN: MILK, MEAT, EGGS, AND FISH (MMEF) at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University

On Thursday, July 3, 2025, the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University held an Animal-Based Protein Consumption Campaign: Milk, Meat, Eggs, and Fish (MMEF) as part of the 2025 Indolivestock Expo & Forum, organized by the Directorate General of Livestock and Animal Health Services, Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia in a hybrid format. This campaign was conducted simultaneously by various faculties of animal husbandry across Indonesia, with the central event taking place at the Grand City Convention and Exhibition in Surabaya.

The MMEF campaign aimed to:

  • Raise public awareness, particularly among the younger generation, about the importance of consuming high-quality animal-based protein to support balanced nutrition and health.

  • Educate the public on the benefits of milk, meat, eggs, and fish as nutritious and affordable sources of animal protein.

  • Foster synergy between government, academics, students, and alumni in supporting the development of national animal-based food security.

The MMEF campaign at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University was attended by lecturers, administrative staff, students, and alumni representatives. The activities included:

  • Interactive education on the benefits of animal protein consumption

  • Distribution of animal-based protein products such as eggs, milk, and processed meat to participants

  • Discussion and Q&A sessions involving lecturers and students

This event was made possible through the collaboration of lecturers, students, and alumni affiliated with ISMAPETTI (Indonesian Animal Husbandry Student Association) Bali Region, supported by the FPPTPI Forum and the National Board of ISMAPETTI, as part of a national nutrition education movement.

Through this initiative, the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University reaffirmed its active contribution to raising public nutritional awareness and strengthening the role of higher education in supporting animal protein-based food security in Indonesia.
