Doctoral Promotion at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University: Tjokorda Istri Agung Sry Ardani Researches the Synergy of Dragon Fruit Peel and Ciplukan Extracts in Bali Ducks
Denpasar – The Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University has once again produced a new doctorate graduate through the Doctoral Program in Animal Husbandry Science. Tjokorda Istri Agung Sry Ardani, S.Pt., M.P. officially earned her doctoral degree after successfully defending her dissertation entitled “Synergy of Dragon Fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) Peel Extract and Ciplukan (Physalis angulata L) Extract on Productivity and Physiological Status of Bali Ducks” in an open examination held on Thursday, August 7, 2025.
The open examination took place at the Auditorium, 3rd Floor, Postgraduate Building, Udayana University Campus, Jl. PB Sudirman, Denpasar. The session was chaired by Promotor Prof. Dr. Ir. Gusti Ayu Mayani Kristina Dewi, MS., IPU., ASEAN Eng., with Co-Promotor I Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Tirta Ariana, MS., IPU., ASEAN Eng., and Co-Promotor II Dr. drh. I Gusti Agung Arta Putra, M.Si.
Her research focused on utilizing natural ingredients—specifically dragon fruit peel extract and ciplukan extract—to improve productivity and physiological status in Bali ducks. The findings of this study are expected to contribute to the development of eco-friendly and economically valuable herbal feed, particularly in the local duck farming sector.
The open examination was attended by faculty leaders, lecturers, students, family members, and other invited guests. With the attainment of her doctoral degree, Tjokorda Istri Agung Sry Ardani is anticipated to become an academic resource capable of strengthening research and innovation in the field of local poultry farming.
It is hoped that the knowledge she has gained will bring benefits to the development of animal husbandry, especially in local poultry production.
