Faculty of Animal Husbandry Holds Temple Anniversary Ceremony (Odalan) at Sesetan Farm in Conjunction with the Third Full Moon Day
The Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, held an Odalan (Temple Anniversary Ceremony) at Sesetan Farm on Sunday, 31 May 2026, coinciding with Rahina Purnama Ketiga (the Third Full Moon Day) in the Balinese Hindu calendar. The ceremony was attended by faculty leaders, academic staff, administrative personnel, and members of the academic community as an expression of gratitude and devotion to Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa (God Almighty).
The ceremony was conducted solemnly through a series of collective prayers and religious observances. The event served as a spiritual occasion for the entire Faculty of Animal Husbandry community to pray for safety, good health, and success in carrying out the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, encompassing education, research, and community service.
In Balinese Hindu tradition, Rahina Purnama is regarded as a sacred day and an auspicious time to strengthen one's faith (sradha) and devotion (bhakti) through prayer and spiritual purification. Therefore, the observance of the Odalan ceremony on the Third Full Moon Day was considered a meaningful opportunity to deepen spiritual values while fostering unity and togetherness among members of the academic community.
From the early morning, participants enthusiastically took part in the ceremonial activities, which began with the preparation of ritual offerings and continued with collective prayers at the shrine located within the Sesetan Farm area. The event was marked by a strong sense of kinship, harmony, and communal spirit throughout its duration.
Through the observance of this Odalan ceremony, the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, hopes to preserve and strengthen spiritual values, harmony, and the spirit of mutual cooperation as fundamental principles supporting the institution’s continued growth and development in the years ahead.
