Faculty of Animal Husbandry Udayana University Collaborates with the Department of Agriculture and Food of Jembrana Regency

The Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, carried out a Community Service Program under the Udayana Mengabdi initiative entitled:
“Optimization of Superior Forage Distribution to Improve the Quality of Goat Breeding Stock in Jembrana Regency.”

The activity, held in Yehembang Kauh Village, Mendoyo District, Jembrana Regency, in August 2025, was led directly by the Dean of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, Dr. Ir. Dewi Ayu Warmadewi, S.Pt., M.Si., IPM., ASEAN Eng.

In this program, the Department of Agriculture and Food of Jembrana Regency distributed various superior forage seeds, including Indigofera and Odot grass, to the local farmers. These forages are expected to enhance feed quality, thereby improving the productivity and genetic quality of goat breeding stock in Jembrana.

The Faculty of Animal Husbandry also provided education and technical guidance on the cultivation, utilization, and management of superior forages to ensure their sustainable use by local farmers.

This collaboration between the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, and the Department of Agriculture and Food of Jembrana represents a concrete step toward strengthening the development of smallholder livestock farming, ensuring year-round feed availability, and improving the welfare of local farmers.
