Faculty of Animal Husbandry Wins Overall Champion Title at the 2026 Mandalika Essay Competition (MEC) 8
Mataram – Students of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, once again achieved a remarkable accomplishment at the national level. At the 2026 Mandalika Essay Competition (MEC) 8, organized by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Mataram, in collaboration with the Setara Prisma Nusantara Foundation (Nusantara Muda), the Faculty of Animal Husbandry successfully earned the prestigious title of Overall Champion.
In this national competition, the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, submitted four innovative projects in the Poster Presentation category. Through the excellence of their ideas, creativity, and presentation skills, all participating teams received awards, contributing to the faculty’s achievement as the Overall Champion of the competition.
The achievements were as follows:
- The team presenting “SMILE (Smart Machine Integrated Livestock Effluent)”, led by Ni Kadek Puspa Vinaya, was awarded a Bronze Medal.
- The team presenting “Brickfeather: An Eco-Friendly Brick Innovation Based on Chicken Feather Waste to Support Indonesia’s Sustainable Development Vision 2035”, led by Anak Agung Ngurah Bijan Dwining Parsia Pramana, was awarded a Bronze Medal.
- The team presenting “SAPA (Waste Balance): A Digital Application Innovation for Household Organic Waste Management Towards a Green Economy and Zero-Waste Environment”, led by Immanuel Jou Sinaga, was awarded a Bronze Medal.
- The team presenting “BULMA Patch (Chicken Feather and Basil Patch)”, led by Radick Akhbar Gunawan, earned a Silver Medal, making a significant contribution to the faculty’s overall score and helping secure the Overall Champion title.
This achievement reflects the commitment of students from the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, to developing innovations that are not only relevant to the livestock sector but also capable of addressing broader environmental and sustainable development challenges. The projects integrated technological innovation, waste management, circular economy principles, and digital transformation to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Dean of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry expressed sincere appreciation for the students’ outstanding accomplishments. This achievement is expected to inspire all students to continue innovating, strengthen their academic competencies, and actively participate in national and international competitions.
The Overall Champion title at MEC 8 2026 further reinforces the position of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, as an institution committed to nurturing creative, innovative, and impactful young talents who contribute meaningfully to national development through science, technology, and innovation.
