Master’s Students in Animal Husbandry Conduct Academic Field Study at PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia, East Java
The Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, through its Master’s Program in Animal Husbandry, conducted an Academic Field Study (Widyakarya) at PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia, East Java Region, on 21–22 May 2026. The activity was attended by 13 students from the Master’s Program in Animal Husbandry and accompanied by two faculty members.
The academic supervisors for the program were Dr. Ir. Ni Luh Putu Sriyani, S.Pt., M.P., IPU., ASEAN Eng., Coordinator of the Master’s Program in Animal Husbandry, and Dr. Ir. Ni Made Witariadi, S.Pt., M.P.
This academic field study formed an integral part of the learning process, providing students with firsthand exposure to the practical application of animal husbandry science within the livestock industry. The topics explored included the implementation of theories and technologies related to animal nutrition and feed production, livestock production systems, livestock socio-economics, and post-harvest handling practices in real-world industrial settings.
Throughout the program, students were given the opportunity to directly observe modern livestock industry management systems, feed manufacturing processes, livestock production management practices, and the application of advanced technologies utilized by the company to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
The Coordinator of the Master’s Program in Animal Husbandry, Dr. Ir. Ni Luh Putu Sriyani, S.Pt., M.P., IPU., ASEAN Eng., stated:
"This academic field study is expected to provide students with valuable firsthand learning experiences regarding the application of modern livestock technologies and industrial management practices, enabling them to integrate theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom with real-world conditions in the industry."
Through this activity, students are expected to broaden their knowledge, strengthen their analytical capabilities, and enhance their readiness to respond to the rapidly evolving, technology-driven livestock industry.
