Student Orientation for the Closed House Broiler Management Competency Program, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University

The Undergraduate Study Program in Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, organized an orientation session for students participating in the Closed House (CH) Broiler Management Competency Program on 12 January 2026. The activity was attended by the 2023 cohort of students and aimed to equip them with the necessary knowledge and technical skills prior to participating in the competency program.

The orientation featured three main topics relevant to broiler management in closed house systems. The first session, entitled Broiler Management in the Closed House (CH) Facility of Udayana University, was delivered by the Head of the Closed House Unit of Udayana University, Ir. I Wayan Wijana, M.P. This session covered technical aspects of broiler rearing, environmental control in housing systems, and efficient production management practices.

The second session on the Standard Operating Procedures of the Closed House Broiler Management Competency Program of Udayana University was delivered by the Program Coordinator, Dr. Made Wirapartha, S.Pt., M.Si. Students were introduced to the program workflow, standard operating procedures, and expected learning outcomes.

The third session, entitled Broiler Performance in Closed House Systems, was delivered by industry representatives from PT Mitra Sinar Jaya, namely I Made Ari Satriawibawa, S.Pt. and Anang Sahroni. This session provided practical insights into broiler production performance based on field experience and industry practices.

Through this orientation program, students are expected to develop adequate knowledge, attitudes, and technical skills to successfully participate in the Closed House Broiler Management Competency Program and enhance their readiness to compete in the poultry industry workforce.
