UDAYANA UNIVERSITY AND UNIVERSITI PUTRA MALAYSIA COLLABORATE IN COMMUNITY SERVICE IN PENGOTAN VILLAGE, BANGLI

In an effort to improve community welfare in the livestock sector, the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) held international community service activities in Pengotan Village, Bangli District, Bangli Regency (Saturday, 26 October 2024). This activity has the theme "Improving Management Maintenance, Health, and Reproduction of Pigs in Pengotan Village, Bangli District, Bangli Regency".

This activity is a form of international collaboration which aims to share knowledge and experience in the field of pig farming. The event began with an opening which was attended by the UP2M Coordinator, Dr. Ir. Anak Agung Ayu Sri Trisnadewi, M.P., Head of Pengotan Farm, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gusti Lanang Oka Cakra, M.Si., also invited the Head of Pengotan Village, resource persons, lecturers at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University and pig farmers in Pengotan Village.

The event continued with the presentation of material delivered by experts from Udayana University and UPM. The material presented included: Animal Nutrition by Professor Loh Teck Chwen (Universiti Putra Malaysia), Pig Health Management by Dr. drh. I Gusti Agung Arta Putra, M.Sc. (Udayana University), Pig Reproduction Management by Dr. Ir. Ni Luh Gde Sumardani, M.Sc. (Udayana University). This activity was also filled with discussion sessions guided by Dr. Ir. Anak Agung Ayu Sri Trisnadewi, M.P. (Udayana University).

It is hoped that this international community service activity will provide benefits for pig farmers in Pengotan Village in increasing their knowledge and skills in managing pig farms, as well as strengthening international relations in the livestock sector between Indonesia and Malaysia.
