Unud, Unand and UHO Collaborate to Hold The 4th International Conference on Animal Production for Food Sustainability (ICAPFS-4)

Udayana University, Andalas University, and Halu Oleo University collaborated to hold the 4th International Conference on Animal Production for Food Sustainability (ICAPFS-4) International Seminar in a hybrid manner. This time the topic raised was Technological Innovation of Animal Production and Green Agro-Industry for Food Sustainability. This activity was held at the Claro Hotel, Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi and was held for two days, namely Tuesday, November 5 2024 to Wednesday, November 6 2024. On Tuesday, November 5 2024, the activities carried out included opening, opening dance, prayer, singing the song Indonesia Raya, report from the Chair of the ICAPFS Committee, remarks from the President of ICAPFS, remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Andalas University, remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Halu University Oleo, opening the event, speech and presentation of material by the Chancellor of Halu University Oleo, presentation of material and discussion by resource persons from the University of Otago, New Zealand (Prof Alaa El Din Ahmed Bekhit), IPB University Indonesia (Prof Dr.Ir. Komang G Wiryawan), Chinese Culture University Taiwan (Prof. Pai Po Lee), Andalas University, Indonesia (Dr. Ir. Amna Suresti, M.Sc.), Halu Oleo University Indonesia (Firman Nasiu, S.Pt., M.Sc), Udayana University Indonesia (Prof. Dr. I Gusti Lanang Oka Cakra, M.Si), University Putra Malaysia Malaysia (Assoc Prof. Dr. Haslia Abu Hassim), Makerere University Uganda (Dr. Joelia Nasaka, PhD).; parallel presentations, announcement of the best presenter, and dinner together. Meanwhile, on the second day, a field trip was held to Bokori Island, Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi.

This international seminar was attended by participants from various countries, and was supported by several universities, both national and international. ICAPFS President Prof. Dr. Ir. James Hellyward, MS., IPU., ASEAN Eng said that this International Conference was a collaboration between Andalas University, Udayana University and Halu Oleo University to jointly build a network in efforts and research related to the sustainability of the availability of animal food. "This conference is a collaboration between Andalas University, Udayana University and Halu Oleo University. Of course, there are partnerships from several universities, both national and international. There are 3 collaborations but there are many universities in Indonesia and abroad. Next, the Chancellor of Halu Oleo University, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zamrun F, S.Si., M.Sc., M.Sc., stated that this effort was a contribution from universities and academics in line with the government's program to achieve national food security. With the presence of participants from various countries, ICAPFS-4 is clear evidence that international collaboration is increasingly necessary in facing global challenges. This activity is also expected to strengthen research networks and partnerships between institutions at national and international levels, as well as support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially in the aspect of food security.
